39,939 fans were treated to a fine game at SAFECO Field as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Tacoma Rainiers won by the
slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.
 
The Tacoma fans enjoyed the offense provided by Jose Tabata.  He launched a
three-run homer in the 4th inning and tripled in the 6th inning.  Cambridge
made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs
across.  
 
The win was credited to Brandon McCarthy(1-0) who went 7 innings allowing 2
runs. McCarthy was helped out by Sergio Romo who recorded his 2nd save.  Ryan
Vogelsong(0-1) suffered the loss.
