At SAFECO Field the Tacoma Rainiers were battered 8 to 3 by the Indian River
Redfish.

Indian River drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
as they scored 4 runs on 5 base hits. That early scoring held up. Indian
River had 14 hits for the game and Tacoma had 6.

The victory was credited to Brett Cecil(8-11) who went 6 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Jon Garland(15-5) was given the loss. He was knocked around
pretty good, giving up 8 runs in 4 innings.

Indian River's manager was just happy to get a win, 'We've had such a bad
streak of games -- boy, it's great to get the monkey off our back. Now maybe
we can relax a little and play the kind of baseball of which we are capable.'

Rainiers top Redfish 5-2.

Franklin Kites crushed the Tacoma Rainiers 15 to 1.

Franklin promptly took the lead in their half of the first as they pummeled
Tacoma for 7 runs on 6 hits. That early scoring was all that Bronson
Arroyo(7-10) needed. Franklin kept the scorekeepers busy in the 1st inning
when they had 7 runs on 6 hits and the 8th inning which saw them score 4 runs
on 5 hits. Tacoma was out-hit by Franklin, 17 hits to 9.

In a game at SAFECO Field the Tacoma Rainiers ended a long winless drought and
got by the Franklin Kites by the score of 8 to 5.

Jon Garland(15-4) gave Tacoma a solid outing. He went 6 innings surrendering
6 hits and 3 walks. Tacoma dominated offensively as they scored in 6
different innings.

Shawn Camp gained credit for his 2nd save. The losing pitcher was Kyle
Davies(9-5). 'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed. Man alive, things were
getting awfully grim,' noted Michael Swanson. 'Now, we need to string a
bunch of wins together and turn things around!'
