Clay Buchholz pitched a 3 hit shutout and second baseman Rickie Weeks had 3
base hits and scored 3 times at SAFECO Field where the incredible Canyon
Diablo Critters beat the Tacoma Rainiers 5 to 0.
Buchholz(10-5) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for
the Tacoma batters. He didn't give up much, just 3 hits and 4 walks in 9
innings. Buchholz racked up 11 strikeouts. Canyon Diablo finished with 9
hits in the victory.
Felix Doubront(0-1) was the loser. He allowed 5 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 1/3
innings. 'I had my good stuff tonight.' Buchholz said. 'As the game went
along I started to get the feeling that I was going to strike out a bunch of
hitters.'
