Jason Heyward lofted one into the 'cheap seats' as the D.C. Bulldogs won in
dramatic fashion over the Tacoma Rainiers by a score of 3 to 2 at SAFECO
Field.
 
D.C. won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning plating 3 runs on
3 base hits.  Pedro Ciriaco led off the inning for D.C. when he doubled.  One
out later, Chase Headley dug into the batters box next, but he struck out.
Yoenis Cespedes then bombed a two-run dinger.  Heyward followed next and he
delivered a solo blast.  Denard Span was next to bat, but he was a strikeout
victim.  D.C. and Tacoma each finished the night with 7 hits.  
 
Justin Germano(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Drew Storen
gained credit for his 2nd save.  Steve Delabar(0-1) was the losing pitcher in
relief.  He was knocked around, surrendering 3 runs in 2 innings.  
 
'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Heyward said. 'If you
just keep trying good things can happen!'
