Matt Kemp had 4 hits as the Williamstown Purple Cows defeated the Tacoma
Rainiers by a score of 3 to 1 at SAFECO Field.
Williamstown came up with 2 runs in the top of the 2nd inning when they had 3
base hits. That was all Kyle Lohse(2-3) needed. Williamstown finished with
10 hits while Tacoma ended up with 5.
Kenley Jansen got the save, his 4th. Clayton Kershaw(1-4) absorbed the loss.
For Williamstown the victory was a welcome one, indeed. They had been
struggling in their last ten games with a disappointing 2-8 record. Michael
Swanson was unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep
losing games' he said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'
