Marwin Gonzalez collected 4 RBI with one swing of the bat as the Franklin
Kites defeated the Tacoma Rainiers by the score of 9 to 5 at SAFECO
Field.

Gonzalez had a good evening at the plate. He tripled which scored a run in
the 6th inning and emptied the bases with a Grand Slam homerun in the 7th
inning. Franklin out-hit Tacoma for the game, 11 hits to 8.

The winning pitcher was Pedro Strop(1-1) who allowed no runs in 3 innings. Ian
Kennedy(1-5) was hit with the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 7
runs in 6 and 1/3 innings.

The win by Franklin is a very welcome one as they have been struggling in
recent days. Their record now stands at a division leading 18-7 - only 1-9
in their last ten games. Michael Swanson was pretty down after the loss.
'We've really been sputtering along lately, something like 0-10 in the last
week or two. That won't get it done.'
