Brandon McCarthy didn't allow a hit until the 7th inning as the Tacoma
Rainiers defeated the Sparkle City Flyswatters by a score of 3 to 2 at SAFECO
Field.
 
McCarthy(7-2) was in control of the game from the outset.  He didn't give up
much, just 3 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings.  The right-handed McCarthy lost
his no-hit bid when Delmon Young homered with one out in the 7th inning.  The
game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  
 
Kyle Farnsworth got the save, his 16th.  Alex White(0-1) ended up with the
loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
