First baseman Ryan Howard lofted one into the 'cheap seats' as the Tacoma
Rainiers defeated the Newport News Builders in 10 innings by the score of 8
to 7 at SAFECO Field.
 
The score was tied at 7 after nine.  Tacoma was victorious in the 10th inning.
Howard lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' resulting in a mighty exciting win for
Tacoma and the 26,436 home town fans in attendance.  Tacoma had 13 hits for
the game and Newport News had 10.  
 
Matt Capps(2-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. Daniel
McCutchen(0-4) was tagged with the loss in relief.  In another of a string of
victories, Tacoma knocked extended their winning streak to 6 games.
