In an entertaining game at SAFECO Field the final score was the Tacoma
Rainiers 5, the Sparkle City Flyswatters 2.
 
Tacoma tallied 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning when they had 3 base
hits.  That was all the runs Erik Bedard(5-5) needed.  The Sparkle City
offense proved no trouble in the 9th.  
 
Jeff Francis(0-4) was given the loss.  He pitched 6 innings and surrendered 7
hits and 1 walk. Tacoma continued their winnings ways improving their record
to 42-23.  They are 9-1 in their last ten games.  Not able to get much going
in recent weeks, Sparkle City is 0-10 of late and now has an overall record
of 22-34.
