Mike Carp had 5 hits and 5 RBI and Ross Detwiler pitched a complete game at
SAFECO Field where the Tacoma Rainiers beat the Williamstown Purple Cows 11
to 5.
 
Carp was spectacular at the plate.  The hometown fans showed their
appreciation with a standing ovation his last time at bat.  He doubled
scoring a run in the 1st inning, lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 2nd
inning, doubled in the 4th inning, doubled plating a run in the 6th inning
and smacked a single in the 8th inning.  Tacoma totaled 15 hits on the night.
 
Detwiler(1-2) allowed 5 runs on the game. Kyle Lohse(16-4) was the losing
pitcher.  'I was really seeing the ball tonight,' Carp said 'I wish it was
always this easy.'
