The Illinois Gamblers ended a long winless drought and cruised to a 14 to 6
victory over the Tacoma Rainiers at SAFECO Field.
 
Mike Macdougal(1-0) did what was required of him in relief and came away with
the win.  He was reached for 1 hit and 2 walks in 2/3 of an inning.  Illinois
out-hit Tacoma for the game, 15 hits to 8.  
 
Ian Kennedy(6-8) absorbed the loss.  He was knocked around, surrendering 9
runs in 6 and 1/3 innings.  'After the stretch we have been through lately,
this victory is especially sweet' offered Matt Lamphear.  Now, we just have
to make this the norm - not the exception!'
