game at SAFECO Field.  The final score was the Tacoma Rainiers 3, the
Illinois Gamblers 2.
 
Tacoma scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning with the help of 4 hits.
That early run support was enough for Brandon McCarthy(10-3) and Tacoma.
Both teams' bats went to sleep after the 3rd inning with no runs scored after
that point.  
 
McCarthy was helped out by Octavio Dotel who recorded his 4th save.  Freddy
Garcia(3-6) took the loss.  He pitched 7 innings giving up 8 hits and 4
walks.
