In a good matchup it was the Tacoma Rainiers 4, the Williamstown Purple Cows 2
at SAFECO Field.
 
Brandon McCarthy(9-3) earned his pay with a solid performance for Tacoma.  He
went 6 and 2/3 innings surrendering 6 hits and 1 walk seeing his ERA drop
from 3.30 to 3.09.  Williamstown out-hit Tacoma 10 to 6, but Tacoma ended up
with more runs.  
 
McCarthy got help from Kyle Farnsworth who earned his 18th save.  Madison
Bumgarner(9-6) was tagged with the loss.  He allowed 2 runs and 4 hits in 5
and 1/3 innings.
